The buzz around the rumored romance between pop sensation Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce continues to captivate the public. Adding fuel to the fire, Travis’ mother, Donna Kelce, recently made an appearance on the Today Show where she was quizzed about her interactions with Taylor.
In true mom fashion, Donna was both playful and respectful of Taylor’s privacy. “I’ll never spill the beans!” she exclaimed when asked about her conversation with Taylor during a game. She then chuckled and gave a hint about their discussion. “You know what we were talking about? Those folks in orange gloves who appear during commercials on the field. I was explaining how their hand signals indicate when the commercial break is over and the game can resume,” she said, gesturing with her arm to demonstrate.
When prodded for more juicy details, Donna maintained her discretion, only commenting on the whirlwind effect that meeting Taylor has had on her life. “I prefer not to discuss it. It’s just one of those things where everyone saw me,” she said. “I was in the VIP boxes with her. It’s certainly added some excitement to my life.”
In a separate interview with PEOPLE, Donna confessed that she wasn’t initially a Taylor Swift fan, leaning more towards the music of her own era. “Not really,” she admitted. “My playlist is more Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan, and the like. That’s more my jam.” However, she expressed respect for Taylor’s successful career. “But talent is talent,” she acknowledged. She also shared that her favorite Taylor Swift song is the catchy hit, “Shake it Off.”
