The dynamic duo of Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith has kept the media on its toes lately. This power couple, who tied the knot back in December 1997, has navigated through a sea of highs and lows, sharing their journey in a refreshingly open manner. Recently, Pinkett-Smith dropped a bombshell, revealing that they’ve been living separately since 2016. So, do they still share a roof?
In a tell-all interview with The New York Times, Pinkett-Smith spilled the beans about the state of their relationship, including their living arrangements. The article notes, “In recent years, they’ve lived separately. As a 50th birthday gift to herself, she splurged on her own pad, moving out of their shared Calabasas mansion.” This relocation took place a few years back, indicating that despite their separation, they’ve cohabited for the majority of their marital life.
Pinkett-Smith shared that they’ve managed to build the family they both envisioned, and that remains their primary focus. “We aspired to create the family we never had, and we accomplished that. We take great pleasure in our family,” she expressed. “For now, our marriage serves as the bedrock of that. Who knows what the next decade will bring?”
“We’ve attempted every trick in the book to distance ourselves from each other, but we just can’t seem to,” she quipped, with a chuckle.
In late June, Pinkett-Smith gave her followers a sneak peek of her upcoming memoir, “Worthy.” She shared a snapshot of herself alongside the book cover, inviting her fans to join her on a journey that “many believe they’re already familiar with.” She disclosed that she’s been penning this memoir for the past four years. “My memoir kicks off from the start, providing a raw and revealing narrative of my challenging upbringing in Baltimore to a controversial life in Hollywood. It’s a thrilling ride of reclaiming my self-worth while uncovering hidden truths,” she penned.
