Amber Heard, having navigated the stormy waters of her defamation trial with Johnny Depp that concluded over a year ago on June 1, 2022, is now charting a course towards happiness and fulfillment. The actress is back in the limelight with the upcoming release of her latest film, ‘In The Fire,’ slated to hit theaters in the United States on October 13. The film’s director, Conor Allyn, recently provided an insight into Heard’s current state of mind.
In a conversation with PEOPLE, Allyn painted a picture of a content Heard, living her best life in Spain with her 2-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige. He mentioned that while she has distanced herself from the Depp saga, the emotional scars from such an ordeal often linger.
Heard’s most recent public appearance was at the premiere of ‘In The Fire’ at the Taormina Film Festival on June 24. Addressing her past, she stated, “What I have been through, what I’ve lived through, doesn’t define my career. And it’s certainly not going to hinder my career. So let’s focus on this movie,” as reported by Deadline.
Despite Heard’s efforts to move forward, echoes of the past continue to follow her. Following the release of the Warner Bros. trailer for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” Depp’s fans funded the release of documents from Heard’s therapist, Dr. Dawn Hughe. These documents allegedly describe a tense “Aquaman” set where an intoxicated Jason Momoa, dressed like Depp, advocated for Heard’s removal from the role of Mera, the aquatic superhero, as per a report by Variety.
